Patient cases highlighting early recovery

During his lecture, Dr. Khandelwal presented cases in which patients walked without a walker within 14–16 hours of surgery. He also shared examples of patients who could sit on a low stool approximately one foot tall during their recovery. These cases illustrated meaningful functional milestones beyond the surgical procedure itself.

These were outcomes from the cases presented. Recovery timelines and suitable activities vary for each patient; walking support and low seating should follow the treating surgeon’s advice.

DAA hip replacement and advanced technology

Dr. Khandelwal’s presentation highlighted his use of the Direct Anterior Approach alongside advanced technology, including laser guidance, as part of his hip replacement practice. His clinical focus is on supporting early mobilisation and helping patients regain confidence in daily activities through individualised surgical care and rehabilitation.

Patients from across India receive care under Dr. Khandelwal for avascular necrosis (AVN) of the hip and hip replacement procedures. His participation at MPIOACON 2026 provided an opportunity to share this experience with colleagues and contribute to academic discussion on hip replacement recovery.
